Forger Sentenced To Eight Years In Montana Prison
McClellan Moore pleaded guilty before Judge George J. Allen to forging a check on Arne Grosfield's Citizens Bank account for 46.50 and was sentenced to eight years. His attorney was E. O. Overland appointed by the court. Howard J. Bloom pleaded not guilty to obtaining money under false pretenses and was remanded on failure to post 3000 bond. Bloom is accused of defrauding Arne Hoem of 1525 via insurance agent misrepresentation, with Overland named as Bloom's attorney.

Mrs Doris Farnes Dies in Wyoming
Burton Robinson received word of the death of his sister Mrs Doris Farnes in Buffalo Wyoming. She was daughter of the late Mr and Mrs W G Robinson and grew up in Big Timber attending local schools. She had been ill for several months and death was due to cancer. Funeral services were held yesterday in Buffalo. Obituary to appear next week's Pioneer.

Gibson Ranch Added To MSC Research Station
The 367 acre Gibson Ranch northeast of Big Timber sold to the Endowment and Research Foundation at Montana State College and will be leased long term to the Montana Veterinary Research Laboratory. It will raise 400-500 disease-free ewes annually for research at Bozeman while the adjacent Huidekoper Ranch studies non infectious cattle diseases. Walter Broughton will head the Huidekoper Station and occupy the Gibson home. No disease work will take place at the Gibson ranch.

The Sweet Grass County Woolgrowers Association will hold its annual meeting November 10 at the American Legion hall. A luncheon at noon will be served by the American Legion Auxiliary, with music from the high school department. Schools to Observe Education Week
Local schools plan Education Week from November 6 to 12 with the theme Strengthen Schools for the 60s. Daily themes cover Serious Students, Interested Parents, Able Board Members, Quality Teachers, Ample Funds, Challenging Curriculums and Life long Learners. The grade school hosts visitation days Wednesday and Thursday, Veterans Day Friday. The high school opens for a full week with an Open House on Thursday November 10, including going to school for a short period, first quarter report cards, a social hour, and a 7:30 p m evening program. Parents are urged to visit and meet teachers.
