Tragic death in Duck Creek cabin suicide found
Authorities report Ray Shook died by gunshot in his cabin near Duck Creek at the foot of the Crazy Mountains. An inquest heard a 45 caliber rifle and a table fork used to trigger the shot. a note stated I am tired of life. The jury ruled death by self-inflicted gunshot. Shook, about 35, had lived alone on a homestead twelve miles from Hunters Hot Springs. Airy town booster notes extol Big Timber and Sweet Grass county prospects and schools.

Principal W C Ryan reports strong progress at the county high school with 57 pupils enrolled this year 26 boys 31 girls a 42 percent rise from last year and a 73 percent retention rate by year end. The course expanded adding shorthand and typewriting with early successes noted.
