Coburn is named King Kleagle in charge of California. Imperial Kaliff E Y Clarke says no reinstatement for those who taught lawlessness. The Klan will not defend Klansmen guilty of lawlessness.
The Sweet Grass County High School Alumni Banquet will be held at the Masonic Hall tomorrow evening with Mrs. Harry Hanly in charge of service. Many out of town members plan to attend.
Broadus Montana shifts church funding to business style by authorizing members to debit their accounts monthly for subscriptions. Rev C S Marsolf from Big Timber becomes pastor as outlying communities are urged to aid in support and weekly regional service.

President Harding urged major railroad leaders to cut freight rates voluntarily without waiting for the Interstate Commerce Commission. A White House dinner conference produced a pledge of cooperation and a committee to study possible actions. The plan targets coal steel farm products minerals and other basic raw materials with high grade goods likely kept at current levels and passenger fares unchanged.
Six years of litigation between Minerals Separation of London and Butte Superior Mining ends with a settlement decree signed by Judge George M. Bourquin. The action covered alleged infringement of an oil separation patent and licensing terms. Attorney Louis P. Donovan will receive 11,556 for compensation and expenses, costs split between parties.
Helena May 22 George W Parr of Miles City was appointed by Governor Dixon to fill the vacancy caused by Judge Reynolds death. The term lasts through 1992 until the next general election. Parr says he will not seek election and appreciates the confidence shown.
