Fighting Grasshoppers and How to Combat Them
The western farmer has long dreaded the grasshopper pest. Professor C. P. Gillette of the Colorado experiment station reports a successful control method. Arsenic or paris green can kill on crops, coal oil can scourge on water, and rolling eggs destroys ground nests. Herding insects off by horse riders and deterring with locks of sheep aids defense. Coyotes and birds are natural enemies. Since 1879 swarms migrate yearly from a permanent breeding ground, making effective control vital for western farmers.

Memorial Exercises to Honor Departed Soldiers
Memorial exercises at the Auditorium next Tuesday from 10 am to 12 pm include vocal and instrumental selections. After luncheon a parade to the cemetery will decorate the graves. Fraternal organizations are invited to participate and flowers may be donated to the committee.

Big Sheep Deal Secures 250000 Acre Lease in Crow Reservation
Absarokee reports Thomas Ross of Absarokee and James L. Ash of Billings lead a major sheep deal with a third party unnamed. They lease 250000 acres in the Crow reservation to woolgrow, plan to move Ross to Billings, while Ross & Runner Mercantile in Absarokee will be taken over by a western county cooperative with $100 stock subscriptions and a May 20 incorporation meeting.
