Baby Dies From Bathtub Burns

Allied and German troops began a prisoner swap as the Grips helm and Gradiaca docked in Barcelona with about 900 Americans and British traded for 700 Germans and civilians. Elmer Mo of Malta filed his petition with Secretary of State Sam W. Mitchell to run on the Republican ticket for state auditor. 5000 Barrels A Day Oil Well Opens At Roundup
In Roundup on May 13 a new wildcat well on the John B. Hawley Jr. lease near Gage dome spouted oil at about 5000 barrels per day. The Amsden sand at roughly 6000 feet depth yielded the find on property owned by Mrs. Louise Morris whose husband had predicted an oil strike.

German planes strike U. S. hospital in Italy
Two two engined German planes strafed and bombed a United States medical battalion hospital near the Fifth Army in Italy on Sunday. Two people were killed and five wounded including a patient. the attack began with machine gun fire on the hospital tents followed by anti personnel bombs. Major J. Scattered showers Tuesday afternoon brought a major soaking across the county with Big Timber recording one inch of rain. McLeod Melville Gibson Bridger creek and other spots reported similar totals as moisture eases drought conditions for cattle and grass. Survey Reveals Montana Role in Missouri River Plans
Montana holds a significant share in the Missouri river development survey by the reclamation bureau. It would irrigate 967,130 acres of new land and provide supplemental water to 436,800 acres.
