Boulder Electric Power Co brings new era to Independence camp
Independence Montana May 15 1883 reports the Boulder Electric Power Co has started a power plant with a Leffel water wheel and Class D-2 generator delivering up to 500 volts of power. The line spans about 2.5 miles using 20 000 pounds of copper wire and a recording watt meter charges by exact power used. Mines include Poorman and Daisy with new mills and electric light for mills and boarding houses.
