Anaconda Copper Mining reports strong 1924 earnings
The Anaconda Copper Mining Company and subsidiaries release a 1924 annual pamphlet showing net income of 314,281,218 dollars, about 4.74 a share, with 1925 per share earnings about 5.85. Copper output fell while zinc and manufactured products rose. 1926 saw the formation of the Silesian American Corp to operate European mines. Copper ore production reached 2,562,344 tons and zinc 17,467 tons. Chile Copper Co. earned 11,655,997 dollars in 1924, vs 11,90,151 in 1925, with Chile operations under Anaconda control.

Gasoline Tax Brings Ninety Thousand in Montana
Helena May 2 Nearly ninety thousand dollars is available for construction of Montana highways from April gasoline tax receipts. The three cent tax produced 89278.25 and 83710.79 from the two cent tax with 15 percent to the highway fund and the rest to general and common school funds. Refunds of 8711.79 were allowed and administration costs were 21834.96 totaling 99834.97 added to the highway fund.

Mrs Alice D Van Cleve wife of Paul L Van Cleve Sr died Saturday after nearly two years of progressive paralysis and debility. A large service at St Josephs church featured songs by the choir and two solos. Surviving are five children and her husband with one daughter predeceased. Born in Albany New York she would have turned seventy this October.

The Livingston lodge 245 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks dedicated its new $50,000 home with grand lodge rituals. District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler Nibbe of Billings presided and Associate Justice Henry L. Myers of Montana Supreme Court delivered the dedicatory oration. The ceremony drew 400 attendees, featured a special musical quartet, and highlighted Elk values of charity, brotherly love, and obedience to law as central to the new lodge and its impact on Livingston.

Head-on Collision In Wyoming Kills Three
CASPER Wyo April 29 Two locomotive engineers and one fireman were killed when Burlington train No 30 traveling Denver to Billings collided head-on near Uva Wyo 19 miles south of Wendover on the Colorado and Southern branch. The dead are Engineer Morgan and Engineer Carter and Fireman Morgan all of Cheyenne. No passengers were injured. Conductor J BR Clark of Casper was in charge.
