Rural School Meet Draws Big Crowd Here Saturday
The Sweet Grass county rural scholastic and athletic meet drew a large crowd at the high school. Upper Grey Clam won the banner for best all around with 391.5 points. Howie and Meleod tied for second with 13 each, Fast Boulder had 12. Exhibits were varied and praised, with Ommund Osen noted for intricate wood toys.

Funeral services for Martin T. Grande 85 held at his Lennep ranch attracted numerous friends and relatives from across Montana. Fitzgerald Celebrates 90th Birthday in Fishtail
In Ahsarokee on April 25, Col Selleck M. Fitzgerald marked his ninetieth birthday with family and friends. Born April 24, 1840 in Van Buren County Iowa he migrated west to California Oregon and Montana living near Gardiner Stillwater Fork and the Fikhorn ranch. He served as government scout freighter Indian fighter cattleman and farmer. He married Mary Brown in 1866 and after her death remarried Elizabeth Bassett in 1927. Surviving children number thirteen with five generations present including Roy Fitzgerald grandson and grandfather and a large clan of grandchildren great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Caulkins retires after nearly three decades in Big Timber and Livingston business life. He and his wife plan a summer vacation and possible winter stay in Berkeley.
