County Surveyors to Convene on New Road Law Changes

Helena Mont March 13 1907 meeting of the County Surveyors Society discussed the new road law and the push for uniform methods across Lewis and Clarke county. The group urged a convention in Helena with county commissioners invited and promised reports to the state attorney general.

Desert land entry rule note changes for settlers

Lewistown's David Hilger reports an opinion from the general land office stating that when an entryman spends more than the annual requirement in any year or years the excess is credited to future years at $1 per acre per year. No further proof or expenditure notices should be sent for those years. This replaces the prior rule tying three years of annual $1 per acre expenditures with each year's claim.
