Special Nine Million Levy Asked by District Trustees
Trustees of school district 1 will seek a special nine mill levy at the April 1 school election to raise about 13 500 for teachers salaries utilities custodial supplies and plant operation for the new grade school addition. The high school levy amount is not yet set. At least one grade school board seat will be open with Henry Klindt not seeking reelection and Harold McLauchlan willing to serve another term.

Glen Berg Killed In Crossing Crash
Glen Berg 34 of Ryegate, son of Amos Berg of Washington state, died after a Milwaukee train collided with his car at a Ryegate crossing. Passengers Walter Wrzesinski 50 and Robert W. Fuchs 31 also perished. The eastbound train, speeding about 70 mph, tore the car apart and dragged debris 0.7 mile. Funeral services were held in Harlowton with burial there.

Grass Fire Damages Ten Acres On Ranch Roadside
A grass fire yesterday morning burned about ten acres of range on the Vernie Hatha way ranch. The highway department and Vernie were burning along the right of way and ditch banks when wind spread sparks to the opposite side of the road. The fire whistle sounded again to call in more firefighters to control the blaze.

The Big Timber TV club reports its television relay station nearly ready with a 12 person crew last week. The building and base work are done and cement poured, with completion expected in days.
