About 35 older 4H members and four adult chaperons from Sibley County Minnesota arrive by chartered bus at 5 p.m. Saturday July 1 for a week in Sweet Grass and Wheatland counties. They will stay with local hosts view 4H work and participate in activities including a Yellowstone side trip before departing July 8.

Three Locals Win Prizes at Red Lodge Trap Shoot
A small Big Timber delegation the Fellows family and Sammy Langhus earned three firsts in six classes at the Sundance Recreation trap shoot in Red Lodge on Sunday. Sandy won the women’s division with 39 of 50, Langhus topped class D with 91 of 100, and the dad captured class B with 96 of 100. The event was a trophy cash prize qualifier urging shooters to reach 200 rounds for fairer classing ahead of Montana Wildlife Federation meet in Red Lodge July 29-30.

Mail Speed Plan Aims Northwest Delivery Change
Postmaster Harold McLauchlan announced a plan to speed first class mail from Chicago to the Pacific Northwest by using highway rail and air links. Trains will keep mail in storage cars while mobile post offices are removed. No regular postal workers are expected to lose jobs. The 1967 Boat Float spans July 7 to 9 starting at Livingston with a 9 a.m. launch and 6:30 a.m. breakfast.
