H C Hulstone, Roundup merchant, was killed when his car crashed eight miles south of Roundup on the Billings road. In Herrin Illinois late June 21 fighting erupted between more than 1000 striking miners and Southern Illinois Coal company guards at a surface strip mine. The aged engineer H C Sheetz disappeared from Northern Pacific train No 1 on June 11 between Grey Cliff and Springdale. His son, in Livingston, offers a reward of 50 for the body and bad weather and river searches yield no trace.

Bozeman Chronicle reports former Congressman John M. Evans announces his bid for the Democratic nomination to represent Montana's First District. Evans previously served two years before being defeated by a non partisan league candidate in the Democratic primary. Byron Cooney, Silver Bow County Commissioner, is the only other announced contender.
