Ration-Free Odd Lot Shoe Sale Offered nationwide
The Office of Price Administration announced a ration-free odd lot shoe sale from July 10 to July 29 offering about seven million pairs. Shoes must cost at least 25 percent less than their June 1 price, and the sale covers men and women footwear, boys sizes 1 to 6, excluding children, misses, and little boys shoes.

Price Ceiling on Autos Effective on July 10
Price ceilings for all used passenger automobiles go into effect July 10 at levels generally of January 1944. The ceilings, announced by Price Administrator Chester Bowles, roll back prices about 10 percent and apply to sales by private owners and dealers.

Fire Fighting Schools To Be Held This Week
In cooperation with the U S forest service two fire fighters training schools will be held in Sweet Grass county this week according to County Agent H M Istos. Fire leaders and ranchers in the northern part of the county meet in Melville Friday at 1 p m. The other meeting will be at the Ble a courthouse Saturday. Fire fighting equipment will be furnished by the forest rangers and latest methods of fighting brush and grass fires will be demonstrated. Forest Rangers DeNio and Rutbottom will participate at both schools. All ranchers are invited to attend one of these meetings.

Prisoners of War to Work in Billings Beet Fields
Italian prisoners of war will join 20 10 farm beet field teams near Billings after arriving from Rupert Idaho. They will live in Tyler hall at Montana Tech campus and work under Great Western Sugar Co. in 20 man units on ten local farms. The group includes about 25 officers and enlisted men and is set to begin Friday if weather allows.

William Frank Miller Rites Held Monday
William Frank Miller aged 87 died Friday at Christensen Nursing Home where he had stayed two and a half months. Rev M O Smith led grave side rites at Mountain View Cemetery with pallbearers Frank Ault John Hager and Albert Esp. Lowrys handled arrangements. Born February 9 1857 in Fairmont West Virginia he was a county resident since 1901 and had no known relatives.

Funeral Held For Forrest W Dodge Of Shawmut
Forrest W Dodge died at home in Shawmut after a cancer illness. Funeral services were held at Lowry's chapel with Rev H S Tool officiating and interment at Mountain View. He was born August 1 1880 in Dover Indiana and moved to Montana as a child, later living at Jefferson, Yellowstone valley, John Dodge ranch, Kellogg ranch, Mission creek, Cascade, and Big Timber. He married Susie Tintinger in 1905. they had two children Mabel and Merrill. Surviving are his widow, son, three grandchildren, his mother in Medford Oregon, sisters May Johnson Myrtle Brown, and brothers Allen and Lewis Dodge. He had worked for the Motor Inn and delivered mail to Melville. residence since 1929 was Shawmut.

German-born rancher Hausserman dies at 178
Jacob H. Hausserman 178 died Thursday night at the Yellowstone ranch below Grey Cliff after 45 years at that home. Lowry's arranged funeral services Sunday at Church of God in Big Timber with Rev. M. L. Lowe. Pallbearers were five sons and a son-in-law. Interment beside his wife who died 1939. Survived by six children Carl Henry Herman Fred George and Mrs. Preston Sanders plus 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
