Stillwater Wool Pool Sells 8000 Fleece to Boston Buyer
About 8,000 fleeces from Stillwater pool members not consigning through the National Wool Marketing Association were sold to the Jeremiah Williams Company of Boston for 25 cents a pound. Robert W. Jones of Billings handled the sale for the Hoston company. The clips total about 75,000 pounds with another 1,000,000 pounds to be delivered to the national association next week. The pool’s total this year is expected to be around the 1,000,000 pounds range last year. The national agency will take the remainder on consignment, with advances of a portion of value at delivery. Frank I. Mackey Sheep Co. is the Montana agent and Leo Daly is the north mountain states appraiser.
