Lost in the Montana mountains Carroll Smith survives brutal blizzard
In 1878 Colonel Paxson and his guests venture into North Boulder country. Carroll Smith strays from camp in a snowstorm and endures days of freezing cold, hunger, and delirium before a Civil War era rescue and a return to Deer Lodge. He later recalls an arduous, nearly fatal trek following deer tracks and a treacherous creek to civilization.
