Drowning of Clarence Rein Stuns Wyoming Search
Clarence M. Rein 28 of Billings disappeared when a bridge washed out after a cloudburst between Sheridan and Buffalo Wyoming. His body was later recovered below Big Piney creek as searchers from Buffalo Sheridan and nearby towns sought him with two companions Ralph Chapman and Robert Johnson. The car was found with a Keefe Automotive catalog, and officials from Keefe aided the search. Rein resided in Melville formerly of Sweet Grass county. he was married with one child and employed as a salesman.

Railroads of Montana lost their bid to block the Montana railroad commission from lowering petroleum and product rates. Melville Native Charles Bennett Dies in Washington at 72
Charles T. Bennett, longtime Melville resident, died of cancer in a Clarkston Washington hospital at age 72. He had moved from Melville to Deary Idaho and later ran a store and butcher shop at Dears before burning out in February. He testified in the 1912 trial of Mel Jowell for Deputy Sheriff Joe Brannin’s murder. He leaves a wife, Amelia Tronrud, and four children. Burial occurred in Clarkston with relatives expected to visit.
