Helena, May 28. Liquor will be sold only under a strict ration program starting June 1, says the Montana liquor control board. Whiskey gin brandy cordials and most liquors except champagne ale and stout go on the ration card system with two week periods. Permit holders will show war ration book No 2 at state stores and receive a ration card after registration. Each two week period allows one bottle whiskey one bottle wine and one bottle beer per person.

Caruthersville Missouri May 31 Floodwaters of the Mississippi River pushed aside levees from St Louis to Cape Girardeau and crested toward Caruthersville at 41.5 feet. She was born April 28, 1889 in the Gallatin valley and later lived in McLeod and Laurel before settling on Susie Creek.
