Two New Tick Fever Cases Reported in Montana
Helena May 31 Two new cases of spotted fever were reported in Montana in the last week. Dr B K Kilbourne state epidemiologist said in the weekly communicable disease report. One case came from Fergus County and the other from Carter County. The total Montana cases this spring reached five with one death. Transmission occurs via the bite of an infested wood tick.

Kidnapped Florida Boy Sparks Early Morning FBI Probe
In Princeton, Florida, 5 year old James Bailey Cash Jr. was abducted from his bed on a Saturday night. Two ransom notes demanding ten thousand dollars were left, with a threat to kill if authorities were notified. The father, a grocery and filling station operator, traveled about 25 miles pursuing the ransom. A note was found at his brother's home pinned to an exterior door.
