Favor Uniform Bounty System Adopted in Montana counties
Representatives from seven southcentral Montana counties approved a uniform trapper and bounty system at a White Sulphur Springs meeting led by Meagher County agent Carl O. Hansen. The plan mimics Meagher county practice, hires trappers and pays a bounty on coyotes with higher rewards for female coyotes in March through May, and will be forwarded to the Montana Wool Growers' Association and to each county in the state.

Body of Second Drowning Victim Recovered
The body of Ralph Korsgaard of Great Falls, who drowned with Roy Popovich when their boat capsized at Martinsdale Lake, was found Friday by patrolmen Lesterblack and John Earle. Korsgaard’s body was recovered near the overturn site and taken to Great Falls. Funeral services for Popovich were held Friday in Great Falls.

Aged Sheepherder Found Dead On Range Mystery Loot Recovered
John Bruno a 70 year old sheepherder for Ron ald Halverson was found dead on the Tony Dahl range about 20 miles north of Reed Point Tuesday morning by Jack Halverson. The body showed signs of death late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. A total of 1788 dollars and 3.36 in change were found in Bruno's clothing.

Purple Heart Recipient Pat Ames Earns Decoration
May 12 at Bushnell General Hospital saw Staff Sergeant Thomas P. Ames receive the Purple Heart. The Montana native escaped a burning tank after it was hit by German fire near Cassino Italy and was wounded in the leg while returning to his lines. His unit had cleared mines and gun nests for advancing infantry before anti tank guns halted their progress.
