Montana proposes constitutional amendment on state funds and depository board
The act submits to Montana voters at the next general election a proposed amendment to Section 14 of Article XII of the state constitution. It would create a State Depository Board consisting of the Governor, State Auditor, and State Treasurer with authority to designate depositories and set interest terms. It also specifies protections for the treasurer from losses due to external causes and declares profit from public moneys or misusing them a felony with related disqualification from office.
