Woman Check Artist Flees After Passing Forged Check
A 23 to 26 year old woman, travelling under aliases including Art Numan Ruth Newman and others, cashed a forged 824.25 check at the Golden Rule in Big Timber after buying shoes and a dress. Sheriff efforts failed to locate her an hour later. She is described as 5 ft 4 in to 5 ft 5 in, about 130 pounds with blonde hair, traveling with two men in a car.

Onslow Joseph Peters 91, longtime Butte resident and boyhood favorite of Abraham Lincoln, died at 943 South Wrooming Street after a three day illness. He was proprietor of Holland Rink Bottling Works and a broom factory. Surviving relatives include two sons O M Peters and John H Peters both of Butte two daughters Anna Peters and Katherine McMurray both of Butte eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
