Montana Legislators Make Splendid Headway
The Montana legislature reports unprecedented progress with the session two weeks old. About sixty house bills and twenty senate measures have been introduced, including proposals on initiative and referendum, state finances, mining claims, liquor near parks, and irrigation districts. The week saw three house bills advance a new judicial district, hours for railway workers, and logging roads eminent domain. The senate addressed warrant payments.

Nephew of Dick Budd Dead After Accidental Gunfire Near Seattle
Ilo Kellogg, twelve, died after a hunting mishap when a gun discharged while he walked with a companion. The bullet entered his stomach, and he died an hour later. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Kellogg of Seattle, long familiar in this city.

First Annual Meeting of Big Timber Building and Loan
The Big Timber Building and Loan Association held its first annual meeting in the courthouse with strong stockholder representation. W C Ryan presided as president and the board of directors was elected comprising Ryan Elliot Lowry LaFond Geiger Coit Richards Browning Kleinhesse. The group approved a loan for 300 to S A McGee for building and set the next meeting for January 30.

Red Licht nuisance meeting urged for Big Timber
