Milford Price, 34, reputed extortionist, was shot as he attempted to flee a stakeout by Sheriff Jack Benjamin at Walker's filling station rear in Reed Point. A decoy package and floodlight trap led to Price's fall, despite him being unarmed. The banker William J. Soderlind had received two blackmail notes demanding 1500 dollars.

Dodson Rancher Benjamin F. Stevens Dies at old Time Cowman
Malta December 30 Funeral services for Benjamin F. Stevens a Dodson rancher were held at the Catholic church with burial in Dodson cemetery. Stevens came to Phillips county in 1893 and started a ranch on People’s Creek. A friend of Charles M. Russell he was among early buffalo hunters and cowboys. He is survived by his wife a son and seven daughters.

Soldier kills two officers and wives at Fort Huachuca
At Fort Huachuca Arizona on December 29 a Black private using a public safety item fatally wounded two US Army captains and their wives and seriously injured a lieutenant. He was shot by a passing guard while firing at Lieut Harvie R Matthews. The fatally wounded were Capt David A Palmer and his wife and Capt Joseph R Wesseley and his wife. Hunger marchers gain senate hearing in Helena
