Masquerade Ball by Volunteer Fire Dept Captivates 700 Guests
The February 20 masquerade ball drew about 700 attendees despite Washington's birthday falling on Sunday. Prof. Hansen's five piece orchestra provided dance music as prizes for best characters were awarded by a committee. Winners included Martha Washington and a list of costume categories with gold, cigars, and other prizes.

Three Men Plead Guilty to Crime
Three men admitted guilt in separate burglaries and a horse theft case. Jack Blondell and Will Jackson received four years and one month, and four years, respectively, for burglarizing the Carney ranch. Adolph Myrstal drew one year and nine months for taking a horse from the Haugstad ranch.

Big Timber Prisoner Breaks Jail at Butte
John Howry aged 20 a prisoner at the Butte city jail escaped from the jail Saturday forenoon after altering a bar or sawed bar making his way to freedom. Howry had earlier been brought back from Chicago by Sheriff Fallang for passing a worthless check on L R McKeever and later given a two year sentence and paroled by Judge Stark.

Knights of Pythias Golden Jubilee Observed in Big Timber
