Cosgriff Develops Inexpensive Missile Control System
Robert L. Cosgriff, Sweet Grass county native and OSU associate professor, unveils a fist size $10 missile control device at Columbus Ohio's Columbus State University lab. The system attaches to existing guidance hardware to improve accuracy and reduce manufacturing costs. Cosgriff says the controller could be used in submarines unmanned tanks and large freighters and is part of a larger research push at OSU Antenna Laboratory funded by Air Force contract.

Susan Jane Poundstone 80 former Reed Point resident died Sunday night in Bozeman where she had lived since 1936 Funeral services were held yesterday at the Evangelical United Brethren church in Reed Point with Rev E J Bott officiating Interment was in Reed Point cemetery She was born Oct 17 1868 near Somerset Kentucky and later lived in Derby Iowa before moving to Montana in 1912 Survivors include her son Lloyd Poundstone of Absarokee and two sisters Alice Darrar of Chariton Iowa and Bertha Lugar of Derby Iowa.

C. C. Johnson Dies In Lewistown
C C Johnson died Monday at St Josephs hospital Lewistown after a three week stay for a fractured hip from a fall. He had been ill about a year. Funeral services will be in Big Timber Friday at 2 pm at Lowry Chapel. A daughter Hattie Wingfield of Oklahoma City and son Edgar of Stanford arrived to arrange the funeral as roads were snowbound.

First Big Timber Buys Nyre Hardware Building
The First Big Timber Corporation has purchased the Nyre Hardware building from Mrs Lester Knudson as an investment. Paul Nyre rents the building and has operated a hardware store since Floyd Bailey’s death. No change in operations has been announced. The building includes upstairs apartments.

Daughter Dies En Route To Doctor In Philipsburg
Mary Anne Heiberger, 13, daughter of Mr and Mrs Leo Heiberger, died Friday in the family car while en route to a doctor. The Philipsburg couple had moved there in 1956 from the Clark Engle ranch on the Boulder. Mary Anne had been an invalid most of her life and is survived by her parents and a brother, David.

Postmaster Harold McLauchlan hosts a tri district meeting of the National Association of Postmasters in Big Timber on Saturday February 21 starting at 2 p.m. About 25 postmasters from 12 south central Montana counties will attend to discuss postal problems and service improvements. A movie will be shown and officials will answer questions and seek solutions. This marks the first Montana meeting of the association this year.
