The concert features a broad program from Schubert to Bolero with coronet soloist Paul Opsahl and is sponsored by the local high school music department led by Eugene Schulz.

A mild winter spell gave Sweet Grass County a 29 degree high Sunday and several hours of snow last night leaving about one inch on the ground. Roads remain slick from melted snow refrozen on warm ground. Fire department hosts turkey dinner at American Legion hall with 51 attending including county and city officials and out of town guest Jack Fielde of Livingston.

Oswald Crest Dies in Minneapolis at 66
Oswald Crest, 66, a native of Sweet Grass county, died Monday morning in Minneapolis after years with heart and asthma. Born September 11, 1886, he married Tina Tangen in Big Timber. He worked at an iron works in Minneapolis until retirement and is survived by his widow, two sons, three sisters, one brother, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in Minneapolis.

Big Timber Splits With Harlo In Weekend Series
The Big Timber Sheepherders defeated the Harlo one night 68 to 63 at home then lost 49 to 47 on Harlo’s floor in a thriller. Dahl and Helen led early offense while Harlo drew even before halftime. In the final period Harlo pulled ahead but Big Timber answered with key baskets and free throws, though the visitors edged ahead for the win.

Legion Decides Against Sponsoring Big Timber Rodeo
The American Legion in Big Timber will not sponsor the rodeo this year but offers manpower and support if another group takes charge. Commander Orvin Flare noted the post will help install highway safety crosses at fatal crash sites in Sweet Grass county, funded by the state highway department. The meeting honored Col. Wallis Huidekoper on his eighty third birthday with cake and a hat.

The Ross Williams returned home after an 8000 mile southwestern tour ending in Big Timber. Wallet Stolen By Strong Arm Thugs
Her man J. Bauman a sheepherder for R H Burns of Big Timber was robbed of 900 dollars in cash by two unidentified strong arm men in a hallway of a South 27th Street rooming house early Sunday. He was struck on the head and treated for a minor scalp wound. Detectives questioned several suspects as they searched for the four 100 dollar bills twenty and fifty dollar bills among the loot.

Ragnvald T. Berland of Springdale Montana was promoted to sergeant while serving with U S Forces in Austria. The Battery B 11th Anti Aircraft Artillery Battalion section chief arrived in Austria in August 1951 and entered the army in March 1951.

A jury found Elmo Nordbye of Billings guilty of driving while intoxicated after a lengthy justice court trial led by C. A. Bishop. Nordbye posted a $200 bond and faced a $150 fine. Witnesses described Nordbye’s erratic driving near Reed Point, a subsequent chase, and a field arrest with three whisky bottles found in his car. Nordbye claimed he had been fishing near Columbus after visiting a Billings bar.

Three Hurt In Auto Accident Near Livingston
John Cudny Don Meyers and Irvin Meyers all of Grey Cliff were injured when their 1935 Ford overturned on Highway 10 about 15 miles from Livingston. Cudny drove as the car skidded 240 feet then rolled 93 feet. all three sustained cuts and bruises but were expected to leave the hospital today.
