Fourteen Die As Bus Plunges Through Open Bridge
In Hopewell Virginia on December 22 an Atlantic Greyhound bus plunged through an open drawbridge into the icy Appomattox River. All fourteen aboard died. 12 unidentified, eight women and two men among the victims, with driver L G Alford among the identified. Rescue efforts continued through subfreezing cold as bodies were recovered and the bus raised from 30 feet of water.

ROAD CONTRACTS SET FRIDAY AT BILLINGS
