Council appoints marshal and passes seventeen ordinances
The Big Timber city council met in special session to name A. G. Yule as marshal and unanimously confirm the appointment. Seventeen ordinances were adopted including ward designations, meetings, publications, officer duties, and penalties for offenses such as intoxication, gambling, opium, minor liquor sales, bawdy houses, indecent street behavior, and fast driving.

The order fixes annual court terms for Park Carbon and Sweet Grass counties in 1903. Park County holds sessions on specified Mondays in January April July November, Carbon on February May August November, and Sweet Grass on March June September December. The 1901 order is revoked by Judge Frank Henry dated December 8 1902.

Sealed bids for repairing five highway bridges two over Sweet Grass creek and three over the Boulder river are due by noon Sunday January 4 1903.
