Bus Crash Near Reed Point Leaves Driver Critical
A head on collision on the approach to the Yellowstone bridge east of Reed Point injured eight people. The flour truck jackknifed into the bus path and a second truck skid into both vehicles. The driver remained in critical condition with passengers from Reed Point and Big Timber among the injured. Local residents aided at the scene and two Absarokee elk hunters improvised an ambulance to transport the gravely hurt to Columbus hospital.

Last Rites Held For Charles Bryan
Funeral services for Charles Bryan 82 who died of a heart attack in Spokane last Monday were held at the Evangelical United Brethren church in Big Timber Friday at 2 pm. Rev. H S Tool officiated with music by Mrs. A R McDonnell Mrs. Ted C. Busha and organist Mrs. Mervin Sell. Pallbearers were Stuart Nicholson Stanley Hanson Arthur Michels Ceryl O Leary Ed Furnish and Forrest Keller. Burial followed at Mountain View. Bryan, a Montana resident since 1891, had lived in Sweet Grass county since 1908. He was born February 1 1865 in Joplin Missouri to John Cole and Sarah Jane Tennison Bryan. He came to Montana in 1882 then returned to Missouri where he married Anna Sophronia Alcorn in 1885. They moved to Montana in 1891, later settling on Mussel shell, then Boulder in Sweet Grass county 39 years ago, and Spokane five years ago. He is survived by his widow and six children Lena Bryan of Cheney Washington J Ray Bryan of Spokane Bert Bryan of Dishman Washington Mae Lyon of Gooding Idaho Verbel Francis of Spokane Lonnie H Bryan of Big Timber. One son Grover preceded him in death in 1940, and he also leaves 23 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
