Thanksgiving visitor lists from Reed Point document frequent gatherings at multiple homes. In Sweet Grass County a probate hearing is set for December 7 1949 at 10:00 AM in Big Timber to prove the last will of Harry Robert Hart and appoint Barbara Dean Hart as executrix. Clerk Beulah Patterson presides. E O Overland represents petitioner. Publication dates November 17 24 and December 1 1949.
Sealed bids for constructing and installing two portable fish food storage units at Big Timber and Great Falls hatcheries in Montana will be opened at 10:00 a.m. on December 12, 1949. Bids may cover one or both units. Specifications and forms are available in Helena. The commission may reject bids or waive technicalities.
Advancement was the main theme as fourteen scouts led by Palmer Finsvik set off for Cherry Creek and Deer Creek area last Saturday. Hiking, cooking, camping and scout skills filled the trip while five scouts Ronald Dahl John Ronneberg John Hager George Bray and Donald Bray earned necessary requirements.
The group discusses camping requirements and notes some members could not complete merit badge work. The Explorers helped newer members pass their tests where possible.
Other scouts making the trip were Chuck Bray Jim and Jerry McCauley Dick McDonald Donald and Kenneth Miekush Curtis Jacobson Joe Roemer and David Refsland.
A Monday troop meeting focused on cleaning the dugout, handling business, and playing games. Kenneth Miekush completed his Tenderfoot requirements during the session.
