Montana approves 2.765 million for public works projects
Montana state projects totaling 2,765,000 were approved by the public works board in Washington. Gov. Frank H. Cooney and State Engineer J. S. James hailed the plan, which includes the Chain of Lakes dam on the Milk river and irrigation improvements. Substantial Montana labor will be employed, with about 75 percent of funds for local workers. The Chain of Lakes dam, 20 miles north of Havre, aims to regulate water across summers and winters for the Milk and St. Mary rivers.

The federal irrigation congress will meet in Boise this Friday and Saturday to discuss readjustment of repayment contracts and water supply improvements. George Greebe of Kuna, president of the group, says delegations from 25 irrigation districts will attend, representing over a million acres. Delegates from Idaho Oregon Montana Wyoming and other states will discuss project cost repayments and a 1931 33 moratorium with resumed payments in 1934.

George Hoffman Hanged At Choteau In 40 Year First
George Hoffman an itinerant barber about 45 was hanged in Choteau for a murder committed during a $70 robbery of a crippled cigar store owner George Burrell. The execution occurred before 4:40 am with Sheriff J L Billings and a crowd of residents present.
