Clara Schumm took gas to end her life in a Bronx apartment. Her brother Charles returned home, turned on the kitchen light, and an explosion occurred sending debris everywhere. Clara died under wreckage. Charles escaped with minor injuries. Damage estimated at $15,000.

High School Opening Set For September 8
Sweet Grass county high school plans to open the fall semester on September 8 with normal enrollment. Langston Escapes Jail Through Court Chute at White Sulphur
Ernest Langston, jailed on an assault conviction, escaped from the county jail in White Sulphur Springs as he was taking bedding from the line. Undersheriff and sheriff searched the grounds and then tracked his car to Ringling and Big Timber before losing trace of him. Relatives planned to pay the $250 fine that was linked to the sentence and his departure from the state.

Campbell II Returns From Russia as Agricultural Advisor
Thomas D. Campbell of Hardin Montana, claimed world’s largest wheat grower, arrived on the Inner Europa as agricultural consultant to the Soviet.
