The Timuer Glee Club arranges a four festival evening event for tomorrow night featuring musical entertainment and community participation. Local residents are invited to enjoy performances and celebrate together.
Kzaber Glee Club led by Mrs Higbie presents a program of duets choruses and war songs plus a kiddie pole dance and Mary Ford film to raise funds for the war effort. Proceeds go to a worthy cause with tickets sold at admission.
Sweet Grass County High trustees meet Saturday evening. German language abolished for future terms. Funds from Helm manual training department to buy tools for library and basement use agreed. Graduation list approved. Solberg Arneson Lamp to study chimney enlargement and department move. Officers re-elected for next year.
Sixth to eighth grade girls in Big Timber School organize garment making for refugees and soldiers. Students such as Wille Magelssen Gladys Arneson Luni Birkeland Prather Solberg and Sue contribute sweaters washcloths knitted bootees helmets and articles for the Red Cross driving rapid progress and honoring individual records.
Miss Jeannette Rankin was billed to speak in Deer Lodge but did not appear. The Deer Lodge Business Men’s Association canceled plans over political concerns tied to her Non Partisan League and I W W leanings. County leaders warned against interference as sheriff officials prepared to guard the event.

Governor Gardner tonight tendered Chemp Clark, speaker of the Missouri House, the appointment to succeed the late Senator William J. Stone. He sent a telegram stating the honor and hoping for early acceptance. Clark has served in the national Congress since the third congress.

Washington April 19 Highly interesting figures were presented by Congress man J M Evans in the course of his speech on the bill in the house of representatives for the advancing of money with which to purchase seed for the farmers He said Montana furnished more men in proportion to her population than any other state in the union when both Liberty loans were placed before our people we oversubscribed the same to a greater extent than the people of any other state in proportion to our assessed valuation He noted Montana oversubscribed the Red Cross allotment 250 per cent and in two years the voting population increased 413 per cent He added that Montana with two representatives on the floor registered more men under the selective draft than both Dakotas Colorado and Washington and nearly as many as Kansas

Brown of Helena is hired as special prosecutor to enforce the orders. Every able bodied man must work at least five days weekly. Disobedience faces severe penalties.

A Townsend Montana laborer Albert Edward Maker was today sentenced in Helena to a four year penitentiary term by Judge John A. under sedition charges related to pro German writings. Maker pleaded guilty to the offense and will serve the term in state prison.
The 27 graduates of Sweet Grass County High School will receive diplomas next Thursday May 2 in an 8 60 p m ceremony. Prof Beam will deliver the diploma address with an program including invocations songs glee club numbers and honor awards.
