Hauser Dam Breaks Open Near Helena Causing Flood
Break in the Hauserlake dam on the Missouri river north of Helena released a 30 foot surge feared to inundate towns and farms. About 250 feet of the dam collapsed and five employe houses were swept away while the power plant, though flooded, sustained minor damage.
