Alfred Sandsness of Melville is believed to have killed himself in a Billings hotel after swallowing poison tablets and shooting himself. The body, found Sunday, was identified by an envelope from a Big Timber bank and an unfilled prescription. A funeral was held in Melville with Rev. Davidson officiating.

Postmaster General Proposes Postal Salary Readjustment Plan
Washington April 2 Postmaster General New presented to President Coolidge a plan from the Post Office Department to readjust salaries for postal workers with part of the higher cost met by higher second and third class mail and parcel post charges. The plan, an alternative to the Kelly bill for a flat salary increase, would cost an estimated 150 million dollars a year. The proposal was shown to the president at a conference with Director Lord of the budget, who was asked to determine how much would come from general treasury funds versus postal revenues.
