Tie Camp Planned At Cottonwood Head In Prospect

The Standard Timber company plans a large tie camp at the Cottonwood head tract of 5 000 000 ties plus mine props and timber. A. G. Hauge and Carl Johnson survey the area for a final estimate before a camp is set up by June 1918. The project is expected to boost local payroll and circulation in the Valley. Mrs. Royal A. Young returned from Salt Lake City after two weeks away.

Woodmen of the World to hold open meeting Saturday

The Woodmen of the World prepares its winter activities with a large open meeting for members friends and prospective Choppers at the lodge hall in Piney. District manager Johnny Pfisterer and Deputy Head Consul Hoover will attend to greet the group and explain Woodcraft principles and the order's aims. A big smoker and feed will accompany the addresses making the event worthwhile.

Fre dell Sells Hotel to Mrs. Gray in Valley Venture

Joe Fre dell plans to transfer ownership of his two story hotel with garage barn and outbuildings to Lena Gray for 3800 dollars. Possession is set for October 1. The sale includes ten bedrooms kitchen dining room restaurant wash room bath room and office. The Fre dells have long lived in Cottonwood and Piney and will be missed by friends. Mrs. Gray recently gave up her Piney lease and is expected to succeed in the new venture.
