A box supper and dance raised funds to buy desks for the new schoolhouse built by Contractor Atwood in the metropolis. Boxes sold to the highest bidder yielded a neat sum, with many of Piney’s youths enjoying the affair and reporting a jolly good time.
Mr Musselman father of Mrs Ira Bailey of Labarge visited town from their ranch Tuesday. Attorney R R Rose of Kemmerer did legal business here and at Daniel last Friday. Mr and Mrs W S Nichols of Halfway visit parents in Evanston. A daughter was born to Mr and Mrs Jess Stull at Marbleton. all well. Miss Nellie Walker was at Kemmerer this week. Babe Probasco and Bailey from Labarge transacted town business. Mrs Ida Marshall of Evanston departed Monday after visiting Geo Brown family. Lost July 22 between Evanston and Diamondville a suit case in a white seamless sack. reward for return. Mrs Thomas Jefferson arrived from Denver to join her husband and settle in Piney. Mr Jefferson is field manager for Associated Oil Co.
A Parents Teachers Association meeting is scheduled for Friday afternoon September 24 at 3:00 at the School House. All parents are urged to attend. Mountains near Piney were topped with a fresh snow skift this morning.
Miss Celia Sargent left Wednesday with the D. H. Scott family for Lar amie to attend school. Mrs. C. G. Jewett of Hillmont visited Daniel. Lute Waters was injured shoeing a horse and went to Daniel for treatment. Several families, including the Binning and Conwell households, traveled and visited in Merna and nearby homes.

Geologist Christian Wrang of Associated Oil Co. returns from a tour of Casper Lost Soldier Big Muddy Lance Creek Salt Creek and Rock River fields. He argues Wyoming is rising as an oil producer and notes a large standard derrick erected at Clifton Fear ranch near town. Drilling gear is due any day to start the deepest test well in the local field.
Abner Davis of Fort Worth Texas applied for an Oil and Gas Permit for lands in Lincoln County Wyoming under Public No 146. Adverse claims must be filed by October 29 1920 with full sworn statements and supporting right to the permit. Mrs Pearl Berger travels to Denver for two weeks. Mrs S J Bailey covers her telephone office duties.
