The University of Wyoming Library serves students and faculty, supports university aims, and partners with state and county libraries. The University Library hosts extensive special collections in agriculture botany geology and wool with complete U S Department of Agriculture files state station reports herd books and related materials. The Archives and Western History Department preserves Western Americana including Wyoming Stock Growers records Senator Francis E Warren papers Dr Grace Raymond Hebard and about 155 other collections plus 5000 photographs 450 maps and growing. Preserving private papers is vital as Wyoming history remains to be written from these sources.
