Fire in Bridger Forest Burns Timberland on South Cottonwood
A logging slash fire in South Cottonwood Creek Bridger National Forest burned over 1000 acres of timber last Thursday. Forest Supervisor J L Levy said 219 tons, 4 tractors, 3 pumps and 1 tanker assisted crews under Ranger J W Lambert. The blaze, triggered by a tractor fuel tank explosion, is out with good progress reported and officials urge caution due to extreme dryness.

Forsgren Heads Wyoming Girl Scout Fund Drive Campaign
Richard A. Forsgren of Rack Sernes is District to Finance Campaign Chairman for the 1956 Pond Drive of the Wyoming Oil Scout Council. The drive covers Carbon, Lincoln, Sublette, Sweetwater and Uinta counties and runs Sept 2 to Oct 6 with a goal of $60,000. The state has 4,754 Girl Scout participants and 1,438 adults, prompting formation of a state council to fund training, staff, and new troops.
