Over 700 volumes from the late Perry Jenkins, Bar-Cross Land and Cattle Co. president of Cora Wyoming, were donated to the University of Wyoming library. The Western Americana collection strengthens research in western history. two unpublished manuscripts and maps enhance the value. Jenkins studied Wyoming history and fur trappers and was noted for his work on General Frederick W. Lander.

The American Legion Forty and Eight distributed two 150 dollar nursing scholarships to University of Wyoming student Ted Joron Casper and Laramie student Kay Barton. Roy Van Drew of Riverton and J W Manning of Laramie presented the awards for the Grand Veilleur of Wyoming. Jordan and Barton are the second and third recipients and study psychiatric nursing at Downey California's Vierans hospital.
