USDA Offers to Buy 34 Million Pounds of Beef
The U S Department of Agriculture said it would offer to buy about 50 million pounds of hamburger to spur consumption and ease drought impacted cattle markets. Purchases come from U S Commercial or Utility beef, mainly cows sold in fall, for distribution to schools and institutions, funded by Section 32. Betty L Budd Mary K Budd and Nancy R Budd of Bre Piney Wyoming were named to junior membership in the American Hereford Association the worlds largest purebred registry. The Aug roster added seventy five junior Hereford breeders and the association serves over 80000 breeders nationwide. Weather blamed for plane crash on Commissary Ridge
