Sublette County cast a large general election vote last Tuesday in an off year, with margins tighter than the previous election. Sheriff Morris Horton, Republican of Big Timber, defeated incumbent Democrat Paul Pane. Nationally, William Henry Harrison, Republican, led in the returns, with Joseph C. O'Mahoney, Democrat, close behind. Four Wyoming high school seniors will receive Christmas scholarships from Wyoming Automotive Company. Tin Cup Derby Horse Races Planned in Pinedale
Plans are completed for the second Tin Cup Derby to be held Sunday November 7 at 1 00 pm at the Pinedale track. Sponsored by the Pinedale Junior Rover Association with Eddie Brewer as president Wilma Moore vice president Donna Hecox secretary and Ray Wardell treasurer. Fourteen races offer a purse each and a tin cup trophy is awarded to the quarter mile winner presented by Mr and Mrs Sid Reynolds of Pinedale. Carrol Nobe of Cora won last year but a three consecutive wins is needed to claim the cup.
