An all school awards assembly was held at Big Piney Junior and Senior High School with Superintendent Paul McGrath hosting. The program honored band members, athletes with four years of participation, editors and reporters, dramatics and agriculture and home economics scholars, plus spelling and council award recipients and Poppy Poster Contest winners.

About 70 guests attended a two bride shower for Mrs Ralph Manning nee Jacquline Bennett at Mrs A Fear Sr's home last Thursday evening. Guests included Mrs Fear, Mr James Jensen and Muns Philp Marinele Sr. A balloon game followed by gift opening, with a miniature church centerpiece. Ice cream cake and coffee were served.

Fifteen seniors graduate at Big Piney High School ceremony
Fifteen Big Piney High School seniors graduated in a May 18 1955 ceremony in the high school gym. Notable attendees included valedictorian Sally Ann Twitchell and salutatorian Jerome Decker. Guest speaker Dr Gale McGee of the University of Wyoming praised graduates and diplomas were presented by R O'Neil with the high school band performing the processional and recessional.

At the Bir Pay Lions Club meeting held Thursday May 12 officers were elected including Joe L Budd president and Victor S McGivmie-4 as first vice president. New board members are George Barp and Arnold Ol Lion. The club sign contest drew few entries as discussion covered sewer plans for Big Piney gas and power delivery issues presented by Lincon Service Corporation.

The program listed processional and recessional pieces, invocation, chorus, introduction of speaker, and the address titled When Life Gives You A Black Eye.

Cattlemen Meet in Pinedale Elect Officers at Banquet
Green River Valley Cattlemen's Association held its annual business meeting in Pinedale last Saturday in the county courthouse. C A Fear Sr of Big Piney was named president succeeding Carl Jorgensen. Andy Travelute Daniel and George Franz Daniel were elected vice president and several listed individuals became directors. The executive committee will select a secretary and treasurer. Ladies enjoyed coffee during the meeting. A banquet followed at Pinedale High School gym with Robert O'Neil of Big Piney as master of ceremonies and Clifford Hansen of Jackson as speaker, hosted by the Pinedale CBS chapter.

Tom ONeil in Truck Crash Causes Fatal Injuries
Tom ONeill, II, escaped serious injury when his truck overturned Saturday morning about 200 yards north of Daniel. The load of 35 crates of yearling soldiers was destroyed. two were killed and several crippled in the accident. The truck owned by C. R. O'Neill was completely demolished.

Kiddies Fishing Pond Near Ready For Monday Opening
The Kiddies fishing pond on the Kenneth Fear ranch near South Piney is set to open Monday. The Wyoming Fish and Game Commission will stock fingerlings up to 12 inches. Local game warden Orville Widlberson notes the project is ready and thanks Mr Fear for providing the land and supporters who helped.
