Big Piney suffered a heavy first inning defeat at Pinedale last Sunday with 11 runs allowed by the Big Piney pitcher. The bats recovered after the opening frame, making the game more engaging as both towns field strong teams and a return matchup is planned between the rival communities.

Last Saturday night in Daniel, the Happy Six orchestra of Big Piney played a gala dance attracting attendees from Kemmerer to Fall River Basin. A midnight supper was served at the Sargent Inn, making the event memorable. County Commissioner Frank Ball spent several days in Kemmerer on business.
Sublette County officials meet May 5 1925 to fix Big Piney road 39 and declare right of way. Appraisers report on Big Piney Daniel Road accepted. Green River road 8 discussed. 80 foot road width to be cleared. Appraisal of Section 16 Township 32 Range 108 accepted. Various bills audited including salaries, road work, supplies, and jail expenses.
The Sublette County Boundary Board met in Pinedale on May 2 1925 to create District No 10 with defined boundaries and to form two new Kendall districts north and west of Black Buttes. The action takes effect June 20 1925. Margaret G McDole, Secretary. The board also accepted Guy B Hackett resignation as County and Prosecuting Attorney and nominated successors N W Reynolds and E C Madden for the post. Protests over opening Upper Green River Road No 8 prompted damages notices. The meeting adjourned to June 2 1925.
Sublette County hosts its spelling contest at Pinedale on May 28 at 2 PM to pick a local contestant for the State Contest. Open to all, with sixth seventh and eighth grade panels on file after May 25 for parent discussion with County Superintendent Margaret C. McDole.
Tuesday’s city election chose J. T. Bailey as mayor and Charles Howerton with George W. Hopkins Jr. as councilmen. Incumbent Mayor Nelse F P Christensen and councilmen L Z Bess and Dan Budd retire, with L D Tanner and H E B Griggs as holdovers. High School commencement is set for May 29 at Hooks hall.
