In Big Piney on Wednesday owners of the North Piney line debated joining Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Co. They reportedly decided to remain independent and keep service for North Piney users only, cutting the Piney line from the local switchboard this morning and prompting talk of a future connection via a new line to Big Piney. If entry to the central is sought again, terms should be fair to all patrons.
The district re elects Osterhout as trustee and approves a nine month school for North Piney for next year. Marbleton’s request for a school is denied. Voters turnout high for the last Monday meeting and reports from Treasurer Budd and Clerk Osterhout are approved.
Doctor McDill of Sublette plans to move to Piney after finalizing a trade with Doctor Shipp of Grantsville Utah. Shipp will return home, McDill will relocate with family and set up permanent practice. The community notes Shipp’s good impression and McDill’s Wyoming and hospital experience.
