Junior Prom Was Grand Affair
The Junior Prom and Banquet on Saturday May 1 filled the high school gym with an Under the Sea theme. Don Stockton Orchestra from Coalville played while the room featured waves created with crepe paper, blue walls, and aquatic decor including an octopus treasure chest a mermaid a diver and a clam shell stage. Queen Garland Twitchell with attendants Mary Adams and Janice Magoner crowned. Sally Twitchel received a crown and bouquet. Alumni guests and staff attended. banquet precedes the prom with talks songs and poetry as Sally Twitchels and David Pitchford performed. Mothers of juniors organized the banquet offering decor and a ship motif with ladder and goldfish motifs.

Wyoming Rodeo Club To Stage May Event At Fort Saunders Park
The University of Wyoming Rodeo Club plans a rodeo May 28 and 29 at Fort Saunders Park near Laramie open to entrants from other colleges. Club president Lyle Thomas and publicity chair Lois Naslund announced a queen will be chosen May 15 for horsemanship and appearance. The event is part of the National Intra-Collegiate Rodeo Association. Nearby notes include heavy snow last weekend and Mrs. Margaret Thompson’s illness.

Homemakers News Demonstration Week Highlights County Clubs
County Homemakers clubs showcase activities since January 1. Meetings center on pot luck dinners and family gatherings. Topics include reading benefits Wills and Testaments citizenship health safety and civil defense. Demonstrations feature clothing clinics sawdust painting covers drapery and Swedish weaving. County program supports library skating pond 4 H clubs and community projects. There are 180 members in the county across clubs and new members are welcome.

Awards Assembly at Local High School Gym
The second annual awards assembly will be held at the local high school gym at 2 45 pm Friday May 14. Elementary and high school pupils will receive awards for the current school year including spelling progress pins for top in class. Wildlife Biologist Mike A. Profile From Mountain City to Ogden
State Agricultural College Logan Utah awarded a major in Wildlife Management in 1998. He spent two years directing Mountain Sheep studies on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. During World War II he served five years in the U S Army. After discharge he supervised game management for the Utah Fish and Game Department for five years. In 1951 he became Wildlife Biologist with the U S Forest Service in Ogden Utah. In 1952 he moved to Mountain City Nevada as District Ranger on the Humboldt National Forest. He was a member of the Society of Range Management and the Wildlife Society and active in 4 H work while in Mountain City.
