Sublette County Farm Labor Committee Forms
A county committee named the Sublette County Farm Labor Association was organized May 2 at a stockmen meeting. It will represent farmers in negotiating a War Food Administration labor contract for lumber, herders, and hay hands, with a labor survey planned to determine needs. Workers will be recruited from surplus areas and shipped to Pinedale at government expense. Members include Bob Miller, John Bloom, Norman Barlow, Bob Oweis, Jim Jensen, Bob Luman, and H Hittle, with John Bloom as chair and Charlie Miley as secretary and treasurer. Ranchers should place orders now.

Federal lunch aid assured through June in Wyoming
In Wyoming, J Matriue Christen of the WEA Office of Distributions says all contracts made before end of June will be carried out and sponsors reimbursed. Congress has not yet finalized action on continuation for next fiscal year, but if funds exist through June the year is safe. Nine schools and 7700 children participate in the community lunch program, with meals being expanded and ration allowances revised by the OPA to support improved nutrition.

Dr. C. L. Porter, professor of botany at the University of Wyoming and curator of the Rocky Mountain Herbarium, was born in Gujran, India. He arrived in the United States at 14, studied at Wooster College and the University of Wyoming, earned an MD in 1929 and a PhD in 1935 at the University of Washington, and now oversees a herbarium with about 200,000 specimens and 2,067 types. He is active in Phi Sigma, fellowships, and several scientific societies, and is an accomplished photographer with over 1,000 Kodachrome slides.
