Sportsmen meet at Kemmerer for game protection in Wyoming

A Wyoming meeting of sportsmen from Kemmerer Evanston Rock Springs Green River Big Piney and Pinedale discussed better policing and protection of elk deer mountain sheep and antelope with new deputy wardens to be posted this summer and Governor Emerson voicing support. The gathering included J B Budi W L Looney L D Tanner Oscar Beck and Geo W Hopkins Jr from Sublette County. May 4 10 proclaimed Music Week by Governor Frank Emerson with a Wyoming seal and date.

Governor Emerson Visits Green River Valley Caravan

Governor Frank C. Emerson and state officials toured the Green River valley from Rock Springs to Green River, visiting Eden Pinedale Daniel Be Pinney LaBarge and Green River. An afternoon talk at Big Piney drew a large crowd with an ovation for the governor and his party.

Daniel Doings In Itna Wyomone And Nearby Visitors

Daniel and Mrs Glidden McNeel of Itna Wyomone visited Mrs Hibben and her parents in Daniel. Industrial Committee guests dined at the Sargant Inn with Governor Emerson and Lions Club members from Jackson en route home from Rock Springs. Hoback Basin Castle met in Daniel. Bondurant and Merna men adjusted to a summer schedule. Mary Louise Sargent returned from Rock Springs after completing school. Bridge workers for Prairie Creek resumed work after Casper visit. Mrs E B Key and children Beulah and Richard, visited Rock Springs. Mr and Mrs Delbert Bess and sons returned from Idaho where Mrs Bess spent part of the winter.

May highway commission bids on 231 projects

The State Highway Commission will open bids on May 9 for 231 road projects totaling 142.6 miles. Surfacing, resurfacing, oiling, and grading work are planned in Converse, Lincoln, Natrona, Sheridan, Sublette, Weston, Big Horn, Park, Johnson counties. A detailed list will be available about April 30.

Industrial Congress at Rock Springs Proves Successful

At the Southern Wyoming Industrial Conference in the Radico theatre more than 100 delegates registered by noon. Governor Frank Emerson and state commerce leaders attended as speakers urged road improvements and regional development across Star Valley, Lyman, Evanston, Kemmerer, Cokeville, Big Piney, Eden Valley, and Rock Springs, spotlighting coal, cheese, dairy, and mineral resources and regional transportation needs.

Bob Childers drilled a high quality arlisian water well for FL D Ball on his upper ranch. The well yields a strong water flow suitable for house piping and stock watering. Ball expresses great satisfaction with the pure water at a depth of 56 feet.

Ookeville Man Killed in South Cokeville Collision

One person killed and four injured in a head on crash four miles south of Cokeville Wyoming. Orin Evans died in a gasoline fire. Roan Stoffer of Cokeville rescued the injured from the wreck, while others suffered burns. Evans was crushed by flying debris before rescue. Blame for the accident was not officially fixed.

Tuesday evening at Masonic hall the Masonic ladies of Big Piney hosted the first entertainment for members of Big Piney Lodge U D FP A M since the local lodge formed a year ago. The formal event featured card playing and refreshments, ending with men praising the ladies as entertainers.

University of Wyoming officials announce Rhodes's choices for assistants in the athletic department. On Monday night the Royal Neighbors entertained at their judge room for the husbands of all Royal Neighbors and the Woodmen and their wives and friends. The evening featured games and various entertainments, followed by refreshments, and all attendees enjoyed a most pleasant time.
