Farm Labor Program Foresees Rotating Aid for Farms
Wyoming farmers face labor shortages as 1944 plans rely on Selective Service to defer older workers and rotate farm crews. County agents coordinate units such as 5 acres alfalfa or 14 range cattle per productive unit, with deferral limits of six months and prerequisites for approval by federal agencies. Local efforts include importing Mexican, Spanish American, and southern-state workers, while assurances urge farmers to place orders early via the County Agent.
