Governor Clifford P. Hansen spoke at Main Street meetings in Pine Dale and Big Piney as part of a state tour. State Senator Donald W. Jewett and Rep. Gordon Mickelson joined, with Paul R. Holtz assisting. The Q A sessions covered water, agriculture, recreation and apportionment, drawing enthusiastic attendance from Big Piney High School students and local Farm Bureau members.
The Robbie Douglas Memorial Fund is placed in escrow at the State Bank of Big Pine to fund a Robbie Douglas medal and trophy for the High School Annual Awards Assembly. The award will honor the most prolific freshman or sophomore and inspire younger athletes. Harold E. The engagement of Miss Evelyn Vickrey of LaBarge to John B. Britton of Randolph Utah is announced by her parents Mr and Mrs Carence W Vickrey of LaPamage. Mr Britton is the son of Walker L Britton of Renan Montana.
LaBarge Junior High School basketball team defeated Lyman 34 to 31 to win the Granger Junior High Basketball Tournament title at Granger Wyoming. Mountain View finished third with 39 to 32 over Granger. LaBarge had earlier beaten Mountain View 40 49 27 and Igwan edged Gromger 20 to 26.
At the 13th Junior Poultry and Egg Fact Finding Conference in Kansas City Missouri 447 Club and FFA members showcased top poultry projects. The event highlighted careers in genetics nutrition veterinary science advertising transportation and engineering with awards scholarships announced and plans for future congresses and county medals.
The Kemmerer Jaycees announce their second annual talent show at Kemmerer High School auditorium on Saturday April 9 at 8 00 PM with Bob Wejll as master of ceremonies. Angelo Mancini says strong entries are expected from Kemmerer Bg Piney Pinedale Cokeville and Star Valley. There are Junior Intermediate and Senior divisions with prizes for first and second and a grand prize for the outstanding act. Entry forms available from Mancini or Benson. all entries due by April 2.
The Triangle Club fashion show on March 11 drew over 100 attendees. Decor featured daisies roses and ferns with Nancy Roeller Loretta Wright June Koehn and Maxine Lewis handling arrangements.
Big Piney faces Moox Croft in a state basketball tourney opener in Laramie at 7:00 p.m. The matchup marks the Tigers first-round game as the event kicks off tonight.
